Our Hearts, Becoming …

Published May 12, 2020 by tindertender

Becoming what?

These days it is easier to believe those we encounter are of a cruel nature, rather than a kind nature.

When did the shift occur? When did it become foolish to leave keys in cars, or the front door to the house unlocked?

It seems to me the late seventies and early eighties were the final years for relaxed freedoms … at least here in the USA.

Are we a paranoid people?

Do we look for the bad in everything, including our self?

“I have held much to be true, which I now discover to be false; I have no reason to suppose anything to be more certain. Possibly everything that I conceive and believe is false. What then is true; what is certain?”
~The Secret Path, by Paul Brunton

She spoke, “There is a beacon becoming”
And I dove into a sea of stormy winds wail
Their might was mighty swift and running
(Every which way)
“Stay with it, child you’re changing”
She sang

Sister sun your ivory tongue is flowin’ like the waters run and all my thoughts jump into
Feathers abound fall on the page down, feathers abound fall on the pages
Sister sun your inner lungs are spinning shapes alive and wove in vision
Praying, pray our spirit, turn, our heart’s’ll become

(And what these words do
And what these words do…)

Sure as flight (and a dash unruly), and faster than the breath you’re heaving
Your wild (as a righteous fury) can be led or be leading
Inside, what a maze of ladders, so you look and look a while (every which way)

This fire, by the burn of-our grandmothers, shapes the way of your choosing
So stay, stay with it, daughter you’re creating this
And every sound you give make sure you’re aiming it

Sister sun your ivory tongue is flowin’ like the waters run and all my thoughts jump into
Feathers abound fall on the page down, feathers about fall on the pages
Sister sun your inner lungs are spinning shapes alive and wove in vision
Praying, pray our spirit, turn, our heart’s’ll become…

Sister sun your ivory tongue is flowin’ like the waters run and all my thoughts jump into
Feathers abound fall on the page down, feathers about fall on the pages
Sister sun your inner lungs are spinning shapes alive and wove in vision
Praying, pray our spirit, turn, our heart’s’ll become…

You got flames for wings, and at the
Stake is the claim of your wild speech
Fake is the flurry try to keep you in a bind
Shake shake shake it off like the way the dragon ride
Out of your cave you’re a beast of another dawn
Like a wake on the current that her voice will
Carry you for another lifetime
Keep your sight set right, leadin with the
Sound of the arrow fly

(And what these words do
And what these words do…)

Sister sun your ivory tongue is flowin’ like the waters run and all my thoughts jump into
Feathers abound fall on the page down, feathers abound fall on the pages
Sister sun your inner lungs are spinning shapes alive and wove in vision
Praying, pray our spirit, turn, our heart’s’ll become.

It is 2 a.m. and I’m wide awake

Published April 30, 2020 by tindertender

I sit here on my couch in the night, a soft glow coming from the salt lamp in the corner.

I begin to think of my day yesterday, and nature and the flowers there. The smell of the earth was moist, and the river flowed in the most beautiful way, moving as though it owned the land it flowed upon.

I thought of relationships, and how grateful I am for the hard times which nearly killed me, for they brought me to this moment.

And I realized what it means to have ones “heart full”.

I heard a woman say hers was full a few days back, and I wondered to myself what that might feel like.

Tonight, I think I know.

And I am grateful.

Line Of Duty Death and Our Agency’s Condolence

Published March 25, 2020 by tindertender

It is with a heavy heart that I am informing you of the loss of Trooper Justin R. Schaffer, Badge #646.

Justin passed away today, March 24, 2020, at the age of 28 after serving 7 years with the State Patrol. Justin was fatally struck by a vehicle when placing spike strips down on Interstate 5 in Chehalis. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, his mother and father Sheila and Glenn and his brother Brandon, and his K9 partner Frankie.

Our hearts go out to this grieving family and we recognize the unique sacrifice this family has offered as Justin’s father, Glenn is currently the Chief of Police in the city of Chehalis.

Justin was born on January 30, 1992, in Glenwood Springs, CO. He graduated from Adna High School in Adna, Washington. Justin received a degree in Criminal Justice from Centralia College.

He began working for the Washington State Patrol on November 12, 2013, as a Trooper Cadet assigned to the Property Management Division.

On January 13, 2014, Justin started his training with the 27th Arming Class. On February 14, 2014, Justin continued his training with the 103rd Trooper Basic Training Class and was commissioned on September 16, 2014, assigned to Morton. On September 1, 2016, Justin was assigned as a certified Drug Recognition Expert. On November 10, 2018, Justin completed K9 training and was a certified K9 handler to his partner “Frankie.” On December 13, 2018, Justin transferred to Chehalis.

Justin is the 30thmember of the Washington State Patrol family to die in the line of duty in our 99 years of service to this state. We must pause and reflect on the character that each of those men and women exhibited as they put on the uniform of their state’s guardians and each day walked into unknown dangers with well-known courage.

In his last moments on the earth, he was wearing that uniform and we will never forget him. Never…

A memorial service is pending. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions on public gatherings, the Washington State Patrol will work with the family and consider how to best move forward in honoring our lost Trooper appropriately. We will make that information available to you in the days to come. Agency personnel are authorized to wear morning bands until the conclusion of a memorial service. For now, bow your head in sadness and feel the beating of your proud heart for this fallen hero.

The words service, sacrifice, and humility each have a renewed definition. His willingness to face danger to ensure the safety of others was and will always be the standard for us all.

When The Smoke Clears

Published March 18, 2020 by tindertender

We are all in this together.
Literally we are all feeling the same anxiety (in varying degrees and forms) about the same thing, uncertainty over this virus, and this has never happened in most of our lifetimes.
This is truly remarkable beautiful ones.
Let this sink in.
We have the extraordinary opportunity to be in each other’s shoes at the same time in this moment in history.
We can close our eyes and know we are all connected.
So what will matter most when this is over?
What will you ask yourself in the quiet spaces of your mind?
How did I treat people?
How did we treat each other? 🖤

Precious Woman

The women who struggle in relationships the most, the ones who have a hard time finding someone they can trust, are truly some of the most:

Brilliant

Creative

Loving souls.

Perfectly sensitive. Unendingly kind.

But they do not always see this.

They tell me they are broken. That no one will ever love them. Yet to know these women is to love them. They are easy to adore despite years of programming and dating advice telling them to be stronger:

“Just love yourself.”

“Don’t be clingy.”

“Don’t be needy.”

“Be mysterious.”

“Just be more: alluring, submissive, feminine, sweet, gentle, interesting.”

“You can make him into the man you want if you try harder.”

“Don’t whine.”

“Don’t be a pushover.”

And when I hear this, when she begins to tell me these stories that were pushed on her, I want to hold her face. Her hands. Her heart.

And ask her:

How can you be anything but precious?

Can you see these wounds as beautiful because they are yours?

I am offering not a ten step program of how to get a lover. But a loving witnessing. Holding a mirror to your heart so you can see more and adore what you see. Understand. Awaken. Nothing to change here. Only more tenderness.

And when it hurts. When the stories get louder, respond with more tenderness.

The Light Inside

Published December 27, 2019 by tindertender

Purity is coming to the Heart Light inside the physical body now. Primal Power is increasing.

Be aware there are those ‘beyond time’ (Psychics, Vampires) who wish to harness it for their own purpose.

Hold firm.
