Earth CPR

Published October 14, 2017 by tindertender

“The earth is a living, throbbing organism. It needs CPR ~ Conservation-Preservation-Restoration ~ on a regular basis:

“Conservation: We’ve got to use our resources rationally. We haven’t been all that rational these last brief millennia.

“Preservation: We’ve got to preserve what we can never replace. That’s what wilderness is. That’s what biodiversity is, and we’re getting rid of both faster than anybody has ever done.

“Restoration: We’re bright enough to build back, to restore the rivers we’ve dammed, the forests we’ve clearcut, the seas we’ve bloodied, polluted, and strip-mined with drift nets; the mountains we’ve bolted and bulldozed, the deserts we’ve spoiled or mistakenly created; the ozone layer we’ve punctured. We can’t restore a lot of things that are gone, but we can certainly restore human integrity.”

“You have opportunities, seize them.”

Mother Earth, Sacred Ground

Published October 11, 2017 by tindertender

Whatever your beliefs, open your heart and mind to Mother Earth … she is calling for us to assist her right now … Hear it.

The Earth is our Mother, we must take care of her
The Earth in our Mother, we must take care of her
Chorus:
Hey Yanna Ho Yanna Hey Yon Yon
Hey Yanna Ho Yanna Hey Yon Yon
Her sacred ground we walk upon, with every step we take
Her sacred ground we walk upon, with every step we take
Chorus:
The Earth is our Mother, she will take care of us
The Earth is our Mother, she will take care of us
– Traditional, Hopi

Renewable Resources

Published October 10, 2017 by tindertender

I have logger friends who no longer speak to me. They think I’m a tree hugging nut. They are adamant about the trees being ‘renewable resources’.  My questions to them is:

“Out of all the trees you have cut down how many have you planted to take their place?” Before you answer with, That is someone else’s department … another question I have is: “Have you held that ‘other department’ accountable to do their part?” and “Do you care that they have not?”

Anger abounds from a man who is trying to feed his family, he may think that tree lovers are trying to take away his livelihood, and this simply is not the case.

The trees are our next breath. If they are not replenished in a manner that is sustainable for the planet, then we are killing ourselves, and those we claim to love. This is the real issue.

campfire

I love a campfire, roasting marshmallows, and the woods as much as the next person. I love having wood to burn in my fireplace in the winter, however, balance is needed, and it is obvious, there is none.

Rather than warring with each other, we ought to work together … different aspects of the whole, to ensure that what we do is balanced and good for all.

Dancing In The Storm

Published September 22, 2017 by tindertender

I begin my day thinking of wood, chopped wood, delivered to my house for winter fires in the fireplace. I think of candle lit evenings, roaring fire in the fireplace, soups and chili’s and home-made breads. Cobblers and home-made ice cream, doggies on my lap. Beautiful colors of fall … and hopes that next spring will rebirth a growth that will not die straight away due to poisoning of the skies and planet.

Storm danceI really love it here, I wish I could stay forever. I would like the children, and their children, to experience the love for this planet that I have had opportunity to grow. My hope is that some day they will be able to drink from the rivers … ice melt … there is nothing sweeter.

It is important that citizens take action to ensure this happens. What actions, I do not know … however there are many who are moving toward cleaning up this planet. If all we have to offer is a voice, then let it be heard to raise awareness of those who poison the earth, sky and waters. If we have opportunity to take it further, let that be done as well.

Holistic medicines need to have their place in the world, being too dependent on others for our own health … is not healthy. Listen to your body, it speaks.

I plan on coming back once this life is finished … I would like there to be something to come back to ~ something beautiful, fresh, and clean. I would like to learn from those who take plant medicine seriously, and our connection to the earth as sacred.

May it slow down … may it purge the false … lab created medicines and foods … let our hearts and minds burst open and know who we are, and the sacred bond we have with each other, and all life.

May we learn to dance in the storm while the earth cleanses itself.
May the rotten not produce black fruits for us to bear.
May joy, peace, and love reign once again.
