Woman Goddess

Published June 26, 2024 by tindertender

A reminder to any woman who looks at her body and finds it flawed: these are prehistoric carvings of goddesses. These represent the epitome of feminine beauty to those we seek to emulate when we go on “paleo” diets. Not a flat tummy, thigh gap, or gravity-defying breast among them.

These are bodies that are unique to their owners, and contain stories of desire, creation, hardship, and perseverance. These are bodies that are ready to hold you as you cry. These are bodies that worked every day to provide nourishment, resources and guidance to their communities while also caring for the next generation. They supported one another in their labor, holding one another’s babies while they worked crafting tools, collecting water & singing songs to teach the young about the goddesses they so closely resembled.

And these carvings weren’t found in just one area. They’ve been discovered nearly everywhere humanity has settled and thrived. Which means there was a time when womanhood, in all her power and capacity, was revered not as merely a sexual novelty or shunned as sinful temptation, but seen as a source of inspiration to create, to connect, and to find courage.

Today, our patriarchal society reveres conformity in women over all. It demands that women strive to achieve and maintain a form that resembles an untested girl. Our bodies must look perpetually untouched, unspoiled, a blank slate for a man to claim and use and write his own story upon. Instead of worshiping women as they are, we scrutinize and discard them as never good enough. And the more we strive to conform, the more we give up control of our bodies.

So have comfort, women: with each fat roll and jiggle you gain as you move forward in time, you come closer to resembling the goddess as she originally appeared in the hearts of humanity. She lives in you and longs to be seen and revered as she was before.

And you deserve to be worshipped.

The Panniculus

Published May 14, 2024 by tindertender

I was today years old when I learnt that the part of the body we affectionately refer to as a pouch has a proper scientific name.

Ladies and gentleman, introducing the panniculus, “an apron of skin and fat that sags below the navel, particularly after pregnancy or weight loss”.

While I won’t be adding panniculus to my baby names list, I do think we should show it a little more love. Because despite what you might see on social media, having a pouch, or a panniculus on a Sunday, is entirely natural and normal. And to prove it, I refer you to the drawing attached.

This piece of art was created in 23,000 BCE, on the walls of a cave in what we now call France. Opinions vary as to whether it represents a woman in childbirth, or an appreciative ode to the female form, but either way her pouch is clearly visible, and she was important enough and interesting enough and beautiful enough to commit to rock for eternity.

It can be hard to feel good about our bodies after pregnancy and birth, and there’s no denying that we have been forever changed by the experience inside and out, but it’s even harder when we try to live up to unattainable and constantly shifting beauty standards.

That’s why this piece of art brings me such joy, the figure is undeniably and unashamedly female, lumps and bumps and all. And if a woman 25,000 years ago, whose life was undoubtedly much harder than mine, can handle this jelly, then so can I.

Sovereign Woman

Published March 8, 2024 by tindertender

There she is, that Sovereign Woman.

She with the courageous heart and the wild soul. She who says, “This is me. This is who I am.”

She wasn’t always this way.

For many years she was hidden away. Revealing herself fully only in the words of her journal and in her closest friendships. Showing up in her truth only when she felt safe enough to be vulnerable.

But now she’s changed. From her appearance to her writing, she’s a whole different woman.

SHE’S THE WOMAN WHO WAS WAITING INSIDE OF HER ALL ALONG.

It was not easy for her, this transformation. She didn’t just step into this embodied self the way you would gracefully step up a staircase.

She had to go deep inside of herself to find this version of herself.

She dug and descended.
Explored and excavated.
Re-membered, re-defined and re-birthed.

And now here she stands: Battle weary. Flawed. Tender.

She’s cried countless tears and faced many shadows. But it doesn’t take much to see there’s something different about her.

What is it? Can you feel it?

Yes that’s it…

IT’S NOT SO MUCH HOW SHE LOOKS. IT’S WHAT SHE’S EMANATING.

She’s grounded in her Wisdom.
Firm in her Strength.
And rooted in her Truth.

She may look like she’s been to hell and back, and in many ways she has, but the raging fire only devoured everything about her that was no longer true.

And what was left behind after all the layers of untruths were burned to the ground was her true essence.

She’s rising out of the ashes now, this Phoenix woman. She’s orienting her life to who she has become.

It’s all brand new to her and she’s far from having it all figured out. But little by little, she’s finding out exactly what it means to be a Sovereign Woman.”

My Lovin’

Not This Time ….

[Intro: En Vogue + (Maxine Jones)]
Ooooh, bop…
No, you’re never gonna get it (ow!)
Never ever gonna get it (no, not this time)
No, you’re never gonna get it (my love)
Never ever gonna get it
No, you’re never gonna get it (ow!)
Never ever gonna get it (not this time)
No, you’re never gonna get it (my love)
Never never gonna get it
Ooooh, bop…

Verse 1: Maxine]
I remember how it used to be
You never was this nice, you can’t fool me (Ooooh, bop…)
Now you talking like you made a change
The more you talk, the more things sound the same
(Ahh…)

[Pre-Chorus: Dawn Robinson]
What makes you think you can just walk back into her life (Ooh, oh oh oh)
Without a good fight? (Ahh…)
I just sit back and watch you make a fool of yourself (Ooh, oh)
‘Cause you’re just wasting your time, oh

[Chorus: En Vogue + (Maxine)]
No, you’re never gonna get it (not this time)
Never ever gonna get it (my lovin’)
No, you’re never gonna get it (had your chance to make a change)
Never ever gonna get it

No, you’re never gonna get it (not this time)
Never ever gonna get it (my lovin’)
No, you’re never gonna get it (had your chance to make a change)
Never ever gonna get it
Ooooh, bop…

[Verse 2: Maxine]
Now you promise me the moon and stars
Save your breath, you won’t get very far
(Ooooh, bop…)
Gave you many chances to make change
The only thing you changed was love to hate
(Ahh…)

[Pre-Chorus: Dawn]
It doesn’t matter what you do or what you say (Ooh, oh, oh, oh)
She doesn’t love you; no way (Ahh…)
Maybe next time you’ll give your woman a little respect (Ooh, oh oh)
So you won’t be hearing her say, no way

[Chorus: En Vogue + (Maxine)]
No, you’re never gonna get it (not this time)
Never ever gonna get it (my lovin’)
No, you’re never gonna get it (had your chance to make a change)
Never ever gonna get it

No, you’re never gonna get it (not this time)
Never ever gonna get it (my lovin’)
No, you’re never gonna get it (had your chance to make a change)
Never ever gonna get it

No, you’re never gonna get it (not this time)
Never ever gonna get it (my lovin’)
No, you’re never gonna get it (had your chance to make a change)
Never ever gonna get it

No, you’re never gonna get it (not this time)
Never ever gonna get it (my lovin’)
No, you’re never gonna get it (had your chance to make a change)
Never ever gonna get it
Ooooh, bop…

Interlude: Maxine]
Yes sir
I give to the needy, and not the greedy
Mmhmm, that’s right
‘Cause you see, baby (Ooooh, bop…)
When you’re locking, you’re losing
And I’m out the door
(Ahh…)

[Pre-Chorus: Dawn]
It doesn’t matter what you do or what you say (Ooh, oh oh oh)
She don’t love you; no way (Ahh…)
Maybe next time you’ll give your woman a little respect (Ooh, oh)
So you won’t be hearing her say, no way

(And now it’s time for a breakdown)

[Break]
Never gonna get it, never gonna get it
Never gonna get it, never gonna get it
Never gonna get it, never gonna get it
Never gonna get it (woo-woo-woo-woo)
Never gonna get it, never gonna get it
Never gonna get it, never gonna get it
Never gonna get it, never gonna get it
Never gonna get it, never get it
(You bet) BOP!
(You bet) BOP!
(You bet) BOP!
(You bet) BOP!

[Outro: En Vogue + (Maxine)]
No, you’re never gonna get it (sweet lovin’)
Never ever gonna get it (sweet lovin’)
No, you’re never gonna get it (my lovin’)
Never ever gonna get it (my lovin’)

No, you’re never gonna get it (sweet lovin’)
Never ever gonna get it (my lovin’)
No, you’re never gonna get it (sweet lovin’)
Never ever gonna get it (my lovin’)

No, you’re never gonna get it (not this time)
Never ever gonna get it (sweet lovin’)
No, you’re never gonna get it (my sweet lovin’)
Never ever gonna get it (my sweet lovin’)

The Mystic Woman ~ She Will Love You ‘Wide Open’

Published December 13, 2023 by tindertender

A Mystic woman is a Wild Creature. She is made. She is deliberately forged by something Mysterious. She is created for a purpose. She spends all her life seeking, for there is nothing else worth doing. She peers and gazes until she falls from the edge of the world, and into the next. Over and over. Each time she returns, she is a little different. What she sees must change her. She dies every day. She is reborn in every moment. Can you even begin to fathom the terror and the faith commanded from such a Being? Can you even begin to understand what such a life can do?

Don’t date a mystic, if you want the safe life you might have. If you are comfortable and cozy, stay away. Whatever you have built around yourself to create comfort: it cannot stand in the blazing fire of a Mystical woman. She is no trophy. She is no bodily pleasure-maker. She is the seer of Souls. She is the womb that Births the Divine into the flesh and bone of matter.

She doesn’t mean to burn your village to the ground, but she has seen what you are meant to Become. You are not a peasant sheering sheep, as you have thought. You are a King dressed in rags who has amnesia. It is her assumption that you have come to be Reborn. If you haven’t, turn back now, while the world you know still exists.

If she touches you, and all the voices on the wind go silent, if you feel you are in a snow globe when you embrace her, she is your destroyer. She will destroy the false idol you see in the mirror. She will smash it open because it is your prison. If you wish to stay there, she will shatter you another way. She will leave. A mystic may not for long engage with that which is too small for her, unless she is nurturing a seedling into its destiny. But the seed must be capable of fulfilling it’s own potential.

The Mystery, in it’s very nature, must show you what has never been seen, never been written, never been known, because before you were forged, it was impossible. The arts of women have been called the dark arts for too long, and they are the keys to infinity. Infinite form. Infinite being. Infinite life.

If your dreams are not filled with the slidest longing of Mystery, you might better leave, because a mystic will see things that are invisible to you. She will feel things that you cannot feel beneath the layers of numbness you have wrapped yourself in. She will call upon your true self, your real Soul, and she will sing it down into you, into herself, and life will never be the same.
