They want to “dissolve” the woman. They want to do a thing to them both “at the same time”.
These narcs are accused of attempted extermination of a bloodline, or bloodlines.
They want this source of longevity, this life force vitality. They want this woman’s promise, her gift of long life … which God gave her for such a long suffering, and successful graduation.

The “terminator” agent smiths are out shapeshifting, wielding pistols, trying to cause flat tires and endings.
Some people want you to give up on your path. They want you to tire of your creations, so they can step in and take credit for it.

I suppose in a world of wholeness, pleasure and pain would be balanced … a bit of joy, a bit of sorrow … sort of like a sweet and spicy soup that isn’t SO spicy it burns the hairs out of the nose upon consumption.

It’s a spewing of one’s essence, which the unseen watchers or participants can harvest and then use to empower their own personal intention … using the identity which was harvested from as “source” of deed, or intention, of the act done by the one who harvested said energy.
