Relax the Hold of Darkness and Be At Cause

Published December 25, 2021 by tindertender

This moment in your life requires great courage. Fortunately you possess that in bucket loads. Allow yourself to be lifted out of one level of known reality and into the next level of higher voltage reality. Higher voltage reality requires a more absolute trust and a heart that is surrendered into the greater heart of the universe, so that life can happen to us, through us and with us, more quickly, more radically, more beautifully and more boldly. You are now being invited into this new reality where things happen quickly and according to bold, loving optimism. This is a reality not only of potential, but of manifestation of the great, big, cosmic YES!

To access this reality, you have to leap from known waters and others may think you are crazy for doing so. You have to leave behind the dark weighty grip of hesitation, procrastination, second guessing and the belief you have to do everything on your own. You may fear for your life! How will you be safe in the wild, electrical pulse of so much aliveness? How will you function without the hazy, sleep-inducing paralysis of playing it safe, taking too long and placing lesser priorities above your sacred art of life? How will you hold yourself back if you don’t hold on to fear? You do not need to worry about such things. Life is wild, but it is also wise. It is a force of startling raw awakening at times, but it is also the natural process of evolution where all things mature according to a seasonal cycle, in right timing. You are a part of, not apart from, that process.

The invitation to shift gears and jump on board the express train of life will feel exhilarating and perhaps also challenging. When you are in the hold of the darkness, you will feel pushed to turn away, to imagine it is all too much, and to create excuses about how your desires aren’t grounded enough, that you are being too flighty or flaky or that you are not living ‘in the real world’. That is fear talking, not truth. If the sacred rebel is not awakened, we will continue to live in a culture drenched in fear and distrust of nature. Those without awakened hearts don’t yet understand what nature knows – she knows timing, she knows life and death, she knows the creative process, she just knows – and can be trusted to support us, her own creations, in becoming all that we can become.

Does this mean that we become passive and just flow along, like a limp leaf detached from the tree and blown about randomly by the breeze? No! Being free of the dark hold empowers us to take up our cause. This means being free to act and affirm the intuitive feelings we have by following up on them. This is painting like someone who has lost their mind, completely free and from the heart. It means writing even though you have no conscious idea of what you are writing, even as the words are streaming forth upon the page before your rather curious eyes. And, it means speaking about your work – never hiding it away. Allow it to breathe the fresh air and be held in the gaze of another. Detach from the darkness that would say it is not enough or must be the best thing ever – whatever that means – in order to be worthy of a place in the world. Instead, just let it be what it is! It might fly, it might endure, and it might not. All of nature, including you, and your passions and dreams, will be what is needed, when it is needed, and how it is needed, according to wisdom. We just have to trust in this, within ourselves and within nature herself through the flow of life. And participate!

Go within and imagine diving deep off the edge of what you have known. There is so much more calling to you now. It’s your time. Leap.

Healing process ::
Say, “I accept the offer of life so that I may truly live. Through unconditional love I now invite and receive all assistance, intervention, protection and inspiration so that I may leap into my next cycle of life, held in the loving grace of wisdom. So be it.”

You may now like to take an actual jump for joy to finish your healing process.

The Winter Spirit and his Visitor

Published December 25, 2021 by tindertender

A Native American Folktale

An old man was sitting alone in his lodge by the side of a frozen stream. It was the close of winter, and his fire was almost out. He appeared very old and very desolate. His locks were white with age, and he trembled in every joint. Day after day passed in solitude, and he heard nothing but the sounds of the tempest, sweeping before it the new-fallen snow.

One day as his fire was just dying, a handsome young man approached and entered his dwelling. His cheeks were red with the blood of youth; his eyes sparkled with life, and a smile played upon his lips. He walked with a light and quick step. His forehead was bound with a wreath of sweet grass, in place of the warrior’s frontlet, and he carried a bunch of flowers in his hand.

“Ah! my son,” said the old man, “I am happy to see you. Come in. Come, tell me of your adventures, and what strange lands you have been to see. Let us pass the night together. I will tell you of my prowess and exploits, and what I can perform. You shall do the same, and we will amuse ourselves.”

He then drew from his sack a curiously-wrought antique pipe, and having filled it with tobacco, rendered mild by an admixture of certain dried leaves, he handed it to his guest. When this ceremony was attended to, they began to speak.

“I blow my breath,” said the old man, “and the streams stand still. The water becomes stiff and hard as clear stone.”

“I breathe,” said the young man, “and flowers spring up all over the plains.”

“I shake my locks,” retorted the old man, “and snow covers the land. The leaves fall from the trees at my command, and my breath blows them away. The birds rise from the water and fly to a distant land. The animals hide themselves from the glance of my eye, and the very ground where I walk becomes as hard as flint.”

“I shake my ringlets,” rejoined the young man, “and warm showers of soft rain fall upon the earth. The plants lift up their heads out of the ground like the eyes of children glistening with delight. My voice recalls the birds. The warmth of my breath unlocks the streams. Music fills the groves wherever I walk, and all nature welcomes my approach.”

At length the sun begun to rise. A gentle warmth came over the place. The tongue of the old man became silent. The robin and the blue-bird began to sing on the top of the lodge. The stream began to murmur by the door, and the fragrance of growing herbs and flowers came softly on the vernal breeze.

Daylight fully revealed to the young man the character of his entertainer. When he looked upon him he had the visage of Peboan, the icy old Winter-Spirit. Streams began to flow from his eyes. As the sun increased he grew less and less in stature, and presently he had melted completely away. Nothing remained on the place of his lodge-fire but the mis-kodeed, a small white flower with a pink border, which the young visitor, Seegwun, the Spirit of Spring, placed in the wreath upon his brow, as his first trophy in the North.

Law Is Not Justice

Rules that are not fair.

“Let the jury consider the verdict,” the King said, for about the twentieth time that day.
“No, No!” said the Queen. “Sentence first – verdict afterwards.”

The situation Alice finds herself in is patently unfair. No-one should be judged, convicted or serve a sentence prior to the evidence being heard, but this is the situation Alice finds herself within. This could be what is taking place in your world. Unfair as it may be, someone wants to judge you before they know you, convict you before they understand your side of the story, and they most certainly have not examined any evidence. Nevertheless, they wish to judge.

As Alice so bravely does, you must speak up and say it is unfair and wrong. It is not right for you to be judged, but another person wishes to do so. Unless you speak up, there could be very strong consequences. When you are told to be quiet and to tolerate the judgements being made about you, you are urged to speak up against injustice and object to what is taking place.

Your opinion of yourself is what is most valuable. You can state your case clearly, with strength and power, and doing so will help you remember just how very strong you are, how very admired you are, how worthwhile and decent you are. You’re worthy of respect, fairness and kindness. If you are being treated poorly, speak up! When you do so, the spell will be broken and people will see that your side of the story is well worth listening to. Never allow another to steal your self-worth!

Someone may have the authority to impose the law, but the law, or the rule is ready to be questioned. Following the law, even though it is unjust. Condemnation without knowing the full story. Being judged by people who do not know you or have a biased view. You may be judging people you do not understand. Be sure to have a fuller picture, and avoid condemnation and judgement. Be discerning but be sure to be fair and just.

Elder’s Meditation ~ December 17, 2021

Male and female is fundamental to life; partners in work to be done.
~ Oren R. Lyons, Spokesman, Traditional Circle of Elders

The Great Spirit created a system which would allow us to reproduce, to have companionship, to love, to laugh, to cry, and be happy. Man and Woman each have gifts the other doesn’t have. But, together they have these gifts to share with each other. The Great Spirit made it this way. So let us treat each other with respect. Let us look upon each other in a sacred way.

Grandfather, Grandmother, bring the spirits to teach us.

A Prayer

Published December 12, 2021 by tindertender

Though my trade may seem humble to many, I am skilled in inner ways. My job may not appear to change the world, but in my consciousness, every movement of my hand corrects a wrong. If I turn a potter’s wheel, I turn the Earth and visualize the healing of this planet. If I swing a hammer, I nail a thought of God to someone’s house and bestow blessings on each room. When I plant a tree, I put in the hole my power, to grow beneath it, making it strong and making me free. I look like your ordinary worker, but I am learning a higher trade. I am in the school of sacred studies and all life is a lesson to me. Mother Earth is my professor, Father Sun, my guide. My work I do for these who sustain me. Humbly, I carryon through the density of Earth’s materiality. Mater, Mother, Matter, you are the expression of all love embodied.

Unconditional Love

Published December 11, 2021 by tindertender

I call upon the presence of unconditional love. Be here now, without restraint. Fill me and fill this space. Touch all beings with your grace. I feel the presence of unconditional love within me. I acknowledge the presence of unconditional love all around me. I am the presence of unconditional love and in this love, no fear can remain. May unconditional love guide any fear back to the light of love, or back into the earth, as serves the greatest good. My body, mind, heart and soul are now completely bathed in and protected by unconditional love. Through my own free will, this is so.

Peacemaker

Published December 11, 2021 by tindertender

I am the mediator between my God-self and my world. I bring the within outward, recognizing that my presentation and the world’s response are just. I am at peace with all outcomes.

There is a guiding voice connected to you from within your own heart. You know when to speak and when to be silent. The Peacemaker knows the way of the world, and yet is not overwhelmed. Your higher self knows how to bring your highest vision into creation. You have seen what can be.

You are being moved through changes required for your spiritual growth. Your choice is the create your path, or one will be created for you.

Allow the light to shine through any cracks you might see. You may act intuitively in the world, seeing every side of a dispute, and bring the polarities into balance.

Suffering exists as a signal that one is ready for a new and higher level of being. Listen to the silent whisper. You are a star in the book of changes. Your movement in the dance of life reveals all things sacred, the unchanging within the changed.

As you enter each transformation you will know if you’ve taken the right action. You will know because you will feel the presence of the Peacemaker within you.

Speak clearly when speaking is needed. Stand up where before you have sat back in silence. Let love come through where anger once lived. Feel the physical changes.

It’s time for a change of diet. Eat that which you are not accustomed to. Break the old pattern. Learn to enjoy whatever is put before you.

It is easy to let a sprouting garden of ideas die. The seed energy must be nurtured, and watered by the consciousness of self-responsibility. You make true peace by offering your real Self in a way the world can accept. There is something in you that the world is waiting for.

Do not fear rejection. You must find your niche. For a successful outcome you must not only have a good idea but you must present it in a way that will be acceptable to a specific group of people. Many fail because they are not acting much different than a salesman trying to sell refrigerators to Eskimos.

Badgering never works. Attempting to force another to accept you or your ideas will fail, if not immediately, then eventually. Go with the flow. Let go of the need to conflict with others.

Peacemaking is a fine art. It is often the art of keeping silence, letting go of the egoic need to be right, or one-up on someone. No one was ever reformed permanently by bullying.

The Peacemaker is ever watchful for the right opening to speak just enough to gain interest and respect. This way there is no need to argue and no need to back down from your true stance. You proceed systematically and intuitively forward at a steady pace, counting every tiny advance as a success. Thus, there is no war; there is slowly expanding cooperation.

Never a Crowd on the Leading Edge

Published December 8, 2021 by tindertender

Don’t you hear it? she asked and I shook my head no and then she started to dance and suddenly there was music everywhere and it went on for a very long time and when I finally found words all I could say was thank you. ~ Brian Andreas

From time to time along your journey, you will serendipitously encounter fellow travelers with whom there are sparks of resonance. It is always a thrill to discover you are exploring similar areas of fascination, and thus uncovering similar revelations within the same parenthesis of time. In these moments allow yourself to be heartened, validated, reassured, and invigorated. You don’t need throngs of people standing shoulder to shoulder with you or cheering you on to be infused with strength and inspiration. There is never a crowd on the leading edge, so if you meet only one kindred soul on your path, consider yourself lucky. Nurture your supportive relationships and feel the blessing of these like-minded souls for their belief in you, and for the mutual blessing you bring to each other. Gratefully see your own courage, wisdom, and adventurous spirit reflected in them.

Mantra ::
My fellow travelers infuse me with rocket fuel, so I can go further than I could on my own.

Dharma of Kali

Published December 7, 2021 by tindertender

Her every action is infused with loving purpose. Every challenge and every opportunity in your life exists by her divine design. Her spiritual intelligence is within your heart. When you trust in your integrity and proceed according to your soul’s values, you are trusting and empowering her to be at cause in your life. Everything that is happening is part of how your prayers are being answered. A new order is to be established. You are being led to it.

Artwork by Jimmy Manton

To honor dharma means to live according to genuine spiritual principles. What those principles are depends on your inner values. To live according to your values means living with integrity of being, conducting yourself according to an inner spiritual code. If you are not quite ready to take such responsibility, or do not yet have the confidence to trust in your own values, work with an external moral code and attempt to align with that. Morality is like training wheels for the soul, imposing concepts of right and wrong. It is a top-down approach – mind first, then attempting to mold behavior accordingly. Spiritual integrity is a different approach. It does not ask what others think about a matter or how we will be judged for acting in a certain way. Rather, it enquires as to what resonates as the most spiritually aligned course of action. It considers how we can speak and act in such a way that those inner values are respected.

Adherence to external moral codes is useful in the earlier stages of development, but when a soul is ready to grow, being overly guided by morality can undermine spiritual progress. Morality can lead the soul into a state of psychological infancy, responding to externally imposed measures of conduct and aiming to avoid repercussions when a transgression is discovered by another. Or it may suffer with guilt and shame when a moral code has been violated – intentionally or not. In such a mindset, we hand power over to the collective that establishes the code, whether it be a religious, socio-economic, family or political group, or the collective more generally. In following that code, we can adopt something of a childlike attitude to punishment and reward. Hence, the shock when bad things happen to good people.

Those with the courage to grow into following an inner code take greater responsibility for their lives and actions. From greater responsibility arises greater freedom. In moving away from the crowd, such souls can forge their own path. This does not mean we act in ways despicable to others. Certainly, there are people who deny the power of moral code, but also lack an inner connection to spiritual presence, and so move with an absence of integrity altogether. Such people create much pain for themselves and others, as they assume a level of personal power without spiritual maturity to ensure that power is expressed benevolently.

Our evolutionary process for strengthening our connection to dharma, or ‘spiritual law’, transforms our relationship with ourselves, each other and the world. As we grow spiritually and mature at a psychological level, we naturally begin to cultivate our inner values, eschewing those we have been taught that no longer resonate. We learn the often painful lessons of what society says is more important – control, profit or personal gain at any cost, social status through positions of power, for example. We increasingly align ourselves with our values and adhere to them more courageously, evolving them according to inner resonance rather than outer effect. We realize that self-respect is more important than trying to control and manipulate outer events or other people. We are moved from an inner place rather than motivated by external rewards. As a consequence, it is spiritually safe for us to receive an abundance of material blessings because we know we will not try to sell our soul to obtain them.

The Dharma of Kali brings the message that your most abundant successes will manifest when you are aligned with your integrity. You do not need to put your faith in pathways or projects that do not resonate with your deeper spiritual knowing and values. Seeking the ways of the world to bring you what you need is only going to limit your spiritual progress and undermine the most abundant manifestation of your purpose. If you intuitively know that you need to engage with a more traditional worldly means of progress, then you can do so with your spiritual integrity intact and guiding you so you stay true to yourself in the process. As you are guided from within, you shall make the best progress.
