COWS DON’T GIVE MILK

Published February 10, 2022 by tindertender

A father used to say to his children when they were young: —When you all reach the age of 12 I will tell you the secret of life. One day when the oldest turned 12, he anxiously asked his father what was the secret of life. The father replied that he was going to tell him, but that he should not reveal it to his brothers.

The secret of life is this: The cow does not give milk. “What are you saying?” Asked the boy incredulously. —As you hear it, son: The cow does not give milk, you have to milk it. You have to get up at 4 in the morning, go to the field, walk through the corral full of manure, tie the tail, hobble the legs of the cow, sit on the stool, place the bucket and do the work yourself.

That is the secret of life, the cow does not give milk. You milk her or you don’t get milk. There is this generation that thinks that cows GIVE milk. That things are automatic and free: their mentality is that if “I wish, I ask….. I obtain.”

“They have been accustomed to get whatever they want the easy way…But no, life is not a matter of wishing, asking and obtaining. The things that one receives are the effort of what one does. Happiness is the result of effort. Lack of effort creates frustration.”

So, share with your children from a young age the secret of life, so they don’t grow up with the mentality that the government, their parents, or their cute little faces is going to give them everything they need in life.

Remember …
“Cows don’t give milk; you have to work for it.”

Choosing A New Way Of Being

Published January 23, 2022 by tindertender

When I was young I lived deep in the forests of the PNW. No one was around for miles, the nearest town was 12 miles away.

My step-brother wasn’t very nice to the animals … he threw a rock and hit a squirrel in a tree, knocking it to the ground. I rushed to it, scooped up its stiff little body and headed home to nurse it. A few steps into my journey it woke up … frightened, and bit me hard. I shook my hand and arm feverishly but it would not release, at least right away.

People are sort of like that brother, and the squirrel.

Someone knocked me out of my tree a time or two and yes, after awhile it became ‘bite the hand that hurts you, AND the hand that’s trying to help you’ … and why? Fear … an “I’m going to get them before they can get me” mentality.

We must learn how to stop biting each other. And stop throwing rocks at each other.

Inspiration

Published December 6, 2021 by tindertender

An idea has captured your attention – or will do so very soon. It may be a grand vision or the vague sense of something that could be. You are encouraged to accept the vision, the idea or the inspiration as it is important to your creative and spiritual growth.

Also, it IS possible. The bee is bringing you healing medicine-wisdom. The bee is a powerful spirit totem. Bees are able to fly with wings that are significantly small in proportion to their heavier bodies. They can do so because of the sheer speed with which their wings move. Your idea, even if it seems like a big, substantial plan that might be difficult to ‘get off the ground’ and up and running, can succeed. You will attract great helpers to you and the Earth will support the success of this project, idea or vision, because it is about helping the greater good, as well as your own growth and development. When Mother Earth lends you nature-wisdom to support your healing and growth, you know you have an exceptionally powerful ally to your cause. Let this bring you confidence.

Allow inspiration to fill you with enthusiasm, an expectation of magic and marvelous synchronicity, as people, situations, and opportunities fall into place to help bring your inspiration into reality. This idea has the potential to flower into so much more than you realize. It has great potential. It can become something that feeds and nourishes others on their creative and personal healing paths too. It has the quality of a mission and is so much more than one, singular idea.

When an inspiration comes from the greater creative intelligence of the universe – even when it makes itself known as an idea coming through a human source – all that is needed to bring it into being will be available at the right time. For the human channel of the idea, it is just a matter of being open, receptive, trusting and enthusiastic about what has come through. Everything required for each step will be naturally attracted to support the success of the project according to divine timing. The healing process below will help you manifest the support needed for your inspiration to take flight.

You are a vehicle for inspiration. You are meant to think and do things differently. You are capable of receiving fresh ideas that are not so ‘out there’ or different that they stop being practical, helpful and wonderful. Avoid the trap of doubting your ideas are special or interesting enough. Your inspiration comes direct from the universal creative source and you are to believe and recognize the signature of great intelligence within your inspirational ideas and creative urges – and to act accordingly. To sum up, there is indication of sweet success, like abundant honey, coming your way through your commitment to and development of an idea that you have already had or will soon receive. See it through to the end. Bee-lieve!

Healing process ::
Place your hands in prayer position at your heart or lay them in your lap with palms facing upwards in a gesture of receiving. Say aloud, “May my inspired ideas be blessed by the creative intelligence and love of this universe. May the perfection of divine timing govern the unfolding of this idea into its most beautiful and fulfilling form. May this idea attract the most nourishing people, situations and opportunities so that it may live out its destiny to make a positive contribution to the world. Through sacred genius, love and grace, so be it.”

When you are ready, sit quietly and say, “I commit myself – body, heart, mind and soul – to that which will illuminate me with golden inspiration and uplift me and those around me with love. I am open to receive all the support and protection needed to truly honor this commitment. So be it.”

Rest for a moment to complete your healing process. If you notice imagery of bees, actual bees or people dressed like them (stranger things have happened!) when you are out and about, know that this is the universe playfully confirming your healing.

Bees Resilient

Published November 30, 2021 by tindertender

Like an enforced hibernation, many of the beehives on La Palma in the Canary Islands were buried under volcanic ash after the Cumbre Vieja erupted in late September.

These six hives were situated just 600 meters from the volcano. When they were finally dug out from under a meter of ash on Nov. 6, rescuers – who suffered a sting here and there – found that five of the six hives had survived, with hundreds of thousands of bees undoubtedly happy to see blue skies again.

They had sealed themselves in by creating propolis, a resinous material with which they plugged any gaps, and were able to survive on their food reserves, as the owner had not yet collected the summer honey.

Spicy Turkey Soup

Published November 27, 2021 by tindertender

Intending to change preconditioned, habitual patterning surrounding food, I have whittled down the amount of meat in my diet over the last several years. I feel very good about this change.

My father joined me for dinner this Thanksgiving holiday. He told me that he did not want me cooking meat, as he knows I try to avoid it. What is a daughter to do? My father came for supper, and he eats meat on a regular basis.

I was not going to make him eat vegetarian, so I bought, and roasted him a turkey breast … and I used the leftover to make soup for the pantry. I was not going to waste one portion of it, out of respect for the life it once was. And yes, I will eat it, out of respect for the life it once was, because I made the purchase. And I will be grateful for the nourishment every time I do.

I doubled the recipe and then some, with the exception of the meat. After having it for supper, I managed to create 15 pints and 3 quarts of delicious soup for the pantry.

Recipe

1/2 tablespoon oil
1 green pepper, diced
1 onion, diced
4 cups turkey stock
2 cups leftover turkey
1 cup frozen corn
2 (16 oz cans) black beans, drained
2 (15 oz cans) diced tomatoes with green chiles
2 tablespoons taco seasoning
4 ounces cream cheese (If dairy free or canning, leave out this ingredient. The cheese can be added at the time of cooking at a later date for creaminess if desired).

Sauté the onion and green bell pepper. Add it to slow cooker with all other ingredients (except cream cheese, this goes in before serving). Cook on low for 8 hours.

Pressure canning:
Bring to 11 lbs pressure and keep it there for 75 minutes pints, and 90 minutes quarts.
