Shades of Love

Published June 30, 2020 by tindertender

One of my favorite things to do is listen to the masculine sing songs of love and pretend he’s singing to me. It makes me smile, knowing that somewhere out there, someone would love to sing to me songs of love … and so I strengthen this knowing by inviting it into my daily living.

Robert Bassett is a new find of mine, and I love his songs. I have a few favorites I’ll share here.

I hope they bring you as much pleasure as they do me.

Someone Told Me To ‘Stay Safe’

And I thought, “Okay, I think I’ll go sing by the river and dance through a cemetery.

The dead probably won’t mind me being ‘too close’ …

Or will they?

One simply never knows these days.

It’ll be what it’ll be.

Done With The Trouble

Published June 22, 2020 by tindertender

Soon I will be done with the troubles (repeat, the repeated as harmony)

Soon I will be done with the troubles of the world,
with the troubles of the world,
The troubles of the world. Soon I will be done with the troubles of the world…
Gonna occupy my mind
No more weeping and a-wailing, no more seeking salvation, no more weeping and a-wailing…
Gonna occupy my mind.
No more weeping and a-wailing, no more big bank bailing, no more weeping and a-wailing…
Gonna occupy my mind.
Occupy Appalachia and occupy the bayou,
Occupy your soundwaves cos we will not be lied to,
Occupy your bank account and occupy your healthcare,
Occupy your garden cos oh my dear you best beware,
Occupy your mother tongue and occupy your neighbourhood,
Occupy reality, delivered up the best you could,
Occupy your homelands, occupy your public schools,
Occupy the pen and ink, occupy the law and rule
Occupy Wall Street, occupy your corner store,
Occupy the soundwaves, occupy your front door,
Occupy Wall Street, occupy your basic rights,
Occupy the frontlines and when it’s time step up to fight,
Soon I will be done with the troubles of the world, with the troubles of the world,
The troubles of the world.
Soon I will be done (with the troubles)…

Melodial Fabric

Published June 8, 2020 by tindertender

Tear rendered in fabric. A slow down in thought remains hidden, distorting the ‘story’, or could it be a ‘song’?

Take a sip, wash it down, pass it out … don’t hold too tightly. Absorb what is needed, shed the remainder.

Rushing, they leave before me.

You have sung to me … no one else heard.

A wanting notion cannot do it alone.

Will you let Love in?

Will you move when the voice inside you calls?

Dance … dance your beauty into life.

Bottles of roses frozen in time.

Deliberately forgotten and pushed aside.

Does the song end

Or has it just begun?

Oracle Reading 6-5-2020

Published June 5, 2020 by tindertender

You have power, and it is real. A secret will be revealed. You have an unexpected ally. Seek the truth. Try some magic!

Use you head rather than your heart. Formulate a wise strategy. Plan ahead for best results.

It is time to relax and be playful. Seek a balance between work and fun. Learn a difficult skill through discovery and play. Be curious.

Reading from the deck “Goddesses and Sirens” created by Stacey Demarco

A story told of long ago
Before they knew
They were powerful.
Materials ruled the world
They sang sad songs
Of how they suffered.
With narrow eyes
And twice sold lies,
A victims view
From inside a cube
My Love

Then all at once
But one by one
They heard the call
A simple song saying
“When would you like
To leave it all behind?
You can quit all your sorrow
Lose track of time
And jump in- surrender
Wash it all away
Jump in and remember
This is our game
My Love”

And now the tables have turned
And the scales have evened
And the Illusions
Are breaking at the seams
And the patterns
And problems
And prisons of the past
Will be pushed under the table
Never meant to Last
And we grow in numbers
Day by day
A familiar smile
Upon your face
My Love.

Then all at once
But one by one
They Heard the call
A simple song,
Saying, “When would you like
to leave it all behind?
You can quit all your sorrow
Lose track of time
And jump In- surrender
Jump in- surrender
Wash it all away
Jump in and remember
This is our game
My Love”

Settle Down Dear

Published June 2, 2020 by tindertender

now settle down my dear
won’t you take while to rest
with your hand on my hand
your head on my chest
and i’ll tell to you a tale
of a time we used to know
of an old woman in a cave
below the orchard grove

her fingers they were lily white
and her eyes were ocean blue
she was the first one of her kind
the world it seemed so new
one clue

you will rise,
like a flame rise,
live again you will rise,
like a flame rise,
live again

if you’re searching for the answer
to the riddle here on earth
the riddle’s gone unanswered
since the moment of its birth
searching for the answer
so many would pursue
in favor of their honor
she provided just one clue

rise up from the ashes
decide which way to go
either up, down or sideways
by then you’ll need to know

you will rise,
like a flame rise,
live again
you will rise,
like a flame rise,
live again

Time Is All We Have

Published May 24, 2020 by tindertender

Uncovering all the subtle lines
Connecting throughout the mind
It’s an ideal design
One beckoning from inside

The wind will go where it desires
The sound may fade, but never dies
Now time is time, and time is all we have here
Time is time, time is all we have
And time is all we have here

The autumn leaves make a quiet sound
Their life is whispered as they fall to the ground
The darkest forest begins to see the light
The loneliest places are brimming with life

Relying on will to deliver the signs
Seeing clearly what’s born in the mind
Believing that when I open my eyes
I’ll see exactly what has been designed

Oracle Reading 5-16-2020 and a Song

Published May 16, 2020 by tindertender

Shallow compliments or an aversion to meaningful dialogue is a red flag.

You are the rise and fall of a wave in the cosmic ocean. Never to be repeated, unable to be grasped, yet infinite, eternal and omnipresent.

An occasional show of kindness does not make someone kind. Love is dependable. Be someone you can count on.

Trust that you will have what it takes when it matters.

All soon clears, heals and is resolved. Peace ascends within you like a glorious bud opening to the surface. Realization comes in a dazzling flash, and you will see the world and your soul as blessed as they truly are. Follow love to the peaceful space inside your heart, your power center, from which all is possible and all is available.

Put yourself forward. Stand in the sun. Grab an opportunity and run with it. Reach beyond the shade, out of the comfort of darkness, and step into life. Holding yourself back is counterintuitive. Doubt, fear, anxiety and grief may be part of your journey, but don’t let them be the journey. Reach out. Stretch yourself little by little, grow strong and LIVE!

In a fleeting moment of grace, in the space between your thoughts, you glimpse a silent bliss that is beyond words or description. This all-encompassing love is your soulful, spiritual center. It is without beginning or end. Reach for it, and this state of grace shall be a guiding light in this world and beyond. It is life … it is eternal.

History may feel like it is repeating itself, there’s a chance to do things differently and, perhaps, secure a better outcome. Release stress, tension or anger before it builds into a storm. Establish a positive routine.

We got campfire songs in mason jars
Love lost ones tattooed on our arms
Vitamin D and elbow grease on tap
That what we got to bring
Yeah that’s what we got to bring

And we climb the trees to see the stars
Cuz the city can’t keep them from being ours
Gotta get a gulp of the light before we sleep
Cuz that’s what we have to do
Yeah that’s what we have to do

Yeah we do we do we do
Yeah we do we do we do

We got broken hearts up to our knees
Shame and guilt stuck in our teeth
And the fear of people dying knockin at our door
But that’s what we leave behind
Yeah that’s what we leave behind

Yeah we do we do we do
Yeah we do we do we do

Bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum
Bum bum bum ba-ooh ba-ooh

Bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum
Bum bum bum ba-ooh ba-ooh

Ba-ooh ba-ooh ba-ooh ba-ooh
Ba-ooh ba-ooh ba-ooh

We put our troubles on the moth’s wings. We open the windows.
We put our troubles on the moth’s wings. We open the windows.
We put our troubles on the moth’s wings. We open the windows
We put our troubles on the moth’s wings. We open the windows
We put our troubles on the moth’s wings. We open the windows
We put our troubles on the moth’s wings. We open the windows
We put our troubles on the moth’s wings. We open the windows

Our Hearts, Becoming …

Published May 12, 2020 by tindertender

Becoming what?

These days it is easier to believe those we encounter are of a cruel nature, rather than a kind nature.

When did the shift occur? When did it become foolish to leave keys in cars, or the front door to the house unlocked?

It seems to me the late seventies and early eighties were the final years for relaxed freedoms … at least here in the USA.

Are we a paranoid people?

Do we look for the bad in everything, including our self?

“I have held much to be true, which I now discover to be false; I have no reason to suppose anything to be more certain. Possibly everything that I conceive and believe is false. What then is true; what is certain?”
~The Secret Path, by Paul Brunton

She spoke, “There is a beacon becoming”
And I dove into a sea of stormy winds wail
Their might was mighty swift and running
(Every which way)
“Stay with it, child you’re changing”
She sang

Sister sun your ivory tongue is flowin’ like the waters run and all my thoughts jump into
Feathers abound fall on the page down, feathers abound fall on the pages
Sister sun your inner lungs are spinning shapes alive and wove in vision
Praying, pray our spirit, turn, our heart’s’ll become

(And what these words do
And what these words do…)

Sure as flight (and a dash unruly), and faster than the breath you’re heaving
Your wild (as a righteous fury) can be led or be leading
Inside, what a maze of ladders, so you look and look a while (every which way)

This fire, by the burn of-our grandmothers, shapes the way of your choosing
So stay, stay with it, daughter you’re creating this
And every sound you give make sure you’re aiming it

Sister sun your ivory tongue is flowin’ like the waters run and all my thoughts jump into
Feathers abound fall on the page down, feathers about fall on the pages
Sister sun your inner lungs are spinning shapes alive and wove in vision
Praying, pray our spirit, turn, our heart’s’ll become…

Sister sun your ivory tongue is flowin’ like the waters run and all my thoughts jump into
Feathers abound fall on the page down, feathers about fall on the pages
Sister sun your inner lungs are spinning shapes alive and wove in vision
Praying, pray our spirit, turn, our heart’s’ll become…

You got flames for wings, and at the
Stake is the claim of your wild speech
Fake is the flurry try to keep you in a bind
Shake shake shake it off like the way the dragon ride
Out of your cave you’re a beast of another dawn
Like a wake on the current that her voice will
Carry you for another lifetime
Keep your sight set right, leadin with the
Sound of the arrow fly

(And what these words do
And what these words do…)

Sister sun your ivory tongue is flowin’ like the waters run and all my thoughts jump into
Feathers abound fall on the page down, feathers abound fall on the pages
Sister sun your inner lungs are spinning shapes alive and wove in vision
Praying, pray our spirit, turn, our heart’s’ll become.
