Lady Justice ~ Keeper of the Scales

Staff hits ground, hard, it triggers an opening in the earth which spreads and widens. The land is separated in two, oceans from either side of the continent rush toward each other, uniting in the chasm created.

Many stories are told of those who do wrong, they and their deeds steal the ‘lime light’. Much energy is put into these actions, keeping them alive, empowering them. It is a stain on life, promoted. With conscious effort, attention is given, when instead, it ought to be given to that which nurses life, love and happiness.

When humans are instructed to hurt another, or are themselves hurt BY another, there is a disconnect from the greater, nurturing whole, a ‘non-caring’ state of mind occurs, a desensitization of the mind develops.

A bigger picture is showing itself to be equal on all sides, uniform.

Lady JusticeLady Justice has often been depicted wearing a blindfold. The blindfold represents impartiality, the ideal that justice should be applied without regard to wealth, power, or other status.

Have you ever wondered why the Lady of Justice is … a lady? In today’s world, all over the world, women are subjected to harsh reaction from many men, of all areas of life.

The U.S. Supreme Court website explains some of the images of Lady Justice that adorn Washington D.C.:
Lady Justice is a blend of Themis and Iustitia. The blindfold with which Justice is now associated probably started in the 16th century. In some of the Washington D.C. statues, Justice holds scales, blindfolds, and swords. In one presentation she is fighting evil with her gaze, although her sword is still sheathed.

The “Keeper of the Scales” needs not wage war to bring harmony to the land. Those who say they uphold the law and then do harm against the mothers are spitting in the face of Justice. Odd … how they keep her in their courts as though they honor her, yet so many actions state otherwise.

We shall see … we shall see …

The essence of Justice lies not within judgement, but within the profound recognition of the harmony that exists at the heart of natural order.

Justice is the ability to say, “No!” when no is needed. When inequality reigns, when a soul is denied, when inequity is rife, when power is misused, when a heart is attacked, when lack of compassion is apparent, when abuse is determined, when the name of love is vilified or grace reviled, we have the right to say a very loud and palpable “No!”

Our core power lies in being responsive and not reactive … aggression has become common currency in our world, and in order to allow the heart to sound, in order to love as purely as we can, we must surrender the old ways of thinking and doing.

If we let go, if we yield or surrender, we discover a new perception. We awaken from the nightmare of thinking ourselves weak and unloved, and accept that the power of the universe is within us, and will guide us. This is when the soul becomes victorious.
