DIY Shampoo Bar

Published June 14, 2018 by tindertender

Eliminating plastics from the household is turning out to be quite the challenge! Torn between tossing everything and replacing with Corning-ware or stainless steel or wood, I keep what I have for now. I worry about it winding up in the ocean, or land fill to stay for centuries.

I’ve been distilling my water for two years now. I do whatever I can to buy things in glass, and I am working on making reusable grocery bags the new norm. While shopping I try to avoid the things in plastic, but it is everywhere!! Poison galore … bamboo tooth brushes and bamboo toilet paper are handy dandy items I’ve adopted into the home.

Recently I have decided to start making my own shampoo bars. I wish to eliminate the plastic bottles shampoo and conditioner come in from my household, and so I will. Below is a recipe I came across. I await the ingredients I’ve ordered and when they arrive I will get busy and teach myself the art of making good soap.

For my first batch I thank:

I am excited to try this recipe and be on my way to further disentanglement of that which is so destructive and disruptive of cellular function.

Ingredients needed to make DIY Shampoo Bar:

1 Unrefined Coconut Oil – 8 oz.

2 Olive Oil – 3.2 oz.

3 Castor Oil – 2.24 oz.

4 Sunflower Oil – 1.28 oz.

5 Raw Unrefined Cocoa Butter – 1.28 oz.

6 Food Grade Lye (Sodium Hydroxide) – 2.2 oz.

7 Coconut Milk or Distilled Water – 2.6 oz.

8 (optional) Avocado – 1.25 oz.

9 (optional) Rhassoul Clay – 1 tablespoon.

10 (optional) Apple Cider Vinegar – 0.5 oz.

11 Soap Mold.

There are so many talented and creative people in this world! To them I give a huge Thank You!” for sharing your recipes, ideas, and expertise. In deep gratitude I accept the blessing of your shared knowledge as I work to break ‘recent tradition’ (of the last century) and move deep into the heart of lore, improving on present circumstance.

Old wives tales and skills which continue from way back when … I welcome you into my world.

Like Everyone Else

Fashion, career, morning drink, meal times, tradition, religion … there really aren’t too many categories people live by and in. Sure, these things change from culture to culture, yet the basic category structure remains the same.

Most cultures have a few rules each citizen is expected to adhere to. If people deter from them, often they are beaten, killed, or ousted from the society. Fear of these things keeps them in check and obedient.

Was the world always this way? Did the every day civilian always bow to the tyranny of the ones making the ‘rules’? Was there ever a time when people worked together in harmony for the benefit of all?

History is written by the ‘so called’ winner. We are finding now that so much of the past has been wiped from the books, only told what they needed us to know in order to get the public to back them on whatever decisions they made, and continue to make.

It is sad that millions of people were (and are) lied to and intentionally kept in the dark about their true heritage, all so the few can reign supreme over them. Civil wars of the past? I get the feeling it was about much more than we’ve been taught.

What Are You Afraid Of?

So much time wasted on fear, fear of what others think, or what they might do. Fear of not being accepted, or of being denied, forgotten, abused.

Extreme fear has the capacity to render one immobile, frozen in place, unable to function. Often just the thought of what could be is enough to succeed in this paralyzation of people.

There are times when one can be so sure that disaster, or ill harm is going to happen. Most times this is all that is needed … the manipulators only have to introduce these ideas to people and the rest is … well, it is actually what we see in the world today.

Television shows us boogeymen (and women) in a fashion that is quite exaggerated. More often than not, the truly awful and dangerous stuff isn’t quite as easy to discern. Disguised as something good and beneficial it can be too late to alter course once the reality is seen, too late to change direction smoothly anyway.

Facing the innermost fear is indeed a challenge. Mustering up courage to walk into that which one would rather run from is very difficult. But in most cases this effort will bring reward, and that reward is the knowledge that what was feared is not capable of living up to the imagination of its power.

Laying in a tiny room she knew they were waiting for her, outside. A friend tried to comfort her, she could not bring herself to believe what he was saying, she did not trust that he knew what he was talking about. He was forgiving and did not get upset, for he knew her dilemma. Finally, she rose, determined to exit the space, thinking to herself, “if I die, so be it.” Lo and behold, she walked out and found she was free. No one was there to harm her, her imagination was the only thing which held her prisoner.

Facing fear will be the hardest thing ever done, but once done, an understanding of how powerless these imaginings are will be known. Most times, the imagination will give something much bigger and scarier to a person to think about, much larger than the reality.

Gifting ones self this exercise is empowering, for in facing that which robs one of personal capacity, that which was stolen, and more, will be obtained.

What Can Be Said Of Time?

Every morning before I get a chance to talk myself out of it I climb onto the stationary bicycle. There is that moment when I begin to say to myself, “it can wait until tomorrow”, which is why I get on before I’m fully awake.

After the remaining exercises I sit and breath, quieting my mind, learning how to be still anew, every morning. With the work schedule it is easy to tell myself I haven’t time for deep silence or contemplation, yet this is exactly where the connection with the larger reality is made. By NOT allowing proper time, we only cheat our self of that which is most beneficial.

The mind gets distracted by things, time disappears as it gets caught in webs placed around us … advertising, television, commotion in the household, neighborhood crime, world events … to remain centered and come from that place is a challenge many do not take.

Strong energy is always inspiring and provoking. Anyone who wishes to follow an interest or continually grow toward something worthwhile has an enthusiastic energy.

Seeing imbalance in others seems simple, yet seeing it in ourselves is difficult. Finding balance is key.

Honoring our self is critical, and respecting the earth as sacred is just as important, for an unhealthy planet cannot support us as we need.

It is never too late to change. Regret is useless. Forgiveness may be necessary. Bravery is valuable. It’s beneficial to act with courage and to be empathetic, to grow knowledge of how our actions affect others and the planet.

History Repeats

Technology … it is breathed into life on the planet, everyone’s heads swell with it, and it grows to the point it begins to destroy the world. We’ve seen entire civilizations disappear from the earth, archaeology shows us this evidence.

particle smasher

Even if we go to war and there is much destruction, do you supposed anything will happen to CERN, or any of the other great technological advancements made? No, probably nothing will happen to them, and when the dust settles and people who remain forget about the hole blown in the atmospheric shield, it will still be there, in full operation, steered by those who know of the ‘secrets’.

When the population diminishes and these ‘important’ figures still smash particles of the universe, seeking multiverses, bending time, sending to and fro this or that, and as they continue to spray the skies with their poison and claim ownership of the rain they produce by doing so, will the common person forget?

At some point the planet itself must rebel against these trespasses, these advances of intelligence must be dismantled in order to protect life that this world alone (as far as we know, after all this time) can give to us.

Through all the scientific  studies of the universe and beyond, ‘professionals’ cannot locate another planet that will support life as we know it (at least they have not announced there is, if they’ve found one). Yet here we are, destroying the only life source we have.

Is there intelligence on this planet? Or just a feeble replica?

Obstacle Challenge

An appointment yesterday left me with knowledge of a current health situation. Without going into detail, I will tell you, I accept this challenge.

OM – The Sound, the Vibration of the Universe, The Primordial Sound
GAM – The Seed Sound, or bija sound of Lord Ganesha
GANAPATAYE – Another name of Lord Ganesh, the one who overcomes of obstacles.
NAMAHA – I offer you my salutations, I bow to you.

I will transform this body.
I will purchase a stationary bicycle, and use it.
I will join a water aerobic class.
I will retain and gain mobilization.
I will alter my diet.
I will shed extra pounds which cause stress on the body.
I will gather with open minded people.
I will share my intention of health.
I will do whatever is needed to more fully synchronize mind and body.
I will strengthen spirit/soul.
I Am a warrior.
I will sprint to the finish line.
I will continue to affirm what I will do, and not what I won’t.
I will grow love and compassion in my mind/heart/spirit.
I will love me just as I am, and then some.
I will let this compassion for self merge with compassion for others.

This challenge I have been given wasn’t really given. I was told to go about life until I couldn’t any more and then we would look into resolution. I say NO. I will look into resolution now, when it is needed most. I have a vision embedded in my mind, and I will transform this reality into a different one … because I have that power … and it will be.

We All Do It

future dreaming.jpg
All people live life while trying to determine future events. We walk around dreaming up scenarios for this and for that, imagining all different possibilities. No one knows for certain what will happen to them, or to anyone for that matter, yet try to figure it out anyhow.

A waste of precious energies … rather than spending time on the here and now, so much of thought is spent on these waking ‘dreams’. Lured here by others who tell us “you have no idea what is going to happen …”. They are right, and rather than allow them to lead thought down a road of guessing, delve deep into a subject in the present moment.

The future is not a threat. It is a field of limitless possibilities. All too easy it is, to get trapped in a box of fear, shrinking when thinking of possible hazards. It amazes me how the mind always attempts to go there, rather than positive results which could be, when appropriate actions are put into place.

Paranoia, fear, negative expectation … whatever you call it, it is theft in action, a robbery of possible joy which can be created now.

Every human has the ability to gather these emotions, these energetic impulses, and re-apply them to something else, somewhere else. For instance, if fear or anger crop up, start counting the things in which you are grateful for … the air, water, music, poetry, breathing, food, flowers, etc. There is so much to be grateful for … as this list grows in your mind, you’ll find a shift takes place. Now fear and anger shrink, and hope and beauty grow, all due to your conscious application of thought.

This power is yours, always has been. No one is subject to anything … the power of the mind can transport a person anywhere. So yes, while I have no idea what is going to happen to me, I dream of peaceful tomorrows, and joy filled todays. I will never give up on that thought, it will never be replaced by gloom … for this is what I wish to create, and with every breath I take, I will be working toward that today, and toward that tomorrow.
