Ooohhhh …. Now I’m being told the Lion is only “chosen” by the Pride because he’s the strongest, most capable of protecting the children.

Apparently, the ladies go off in the outskirts and make themselves available for a roll in the hay by the outskirts lions, genetic mixup.

As soon as the chosen Lion attacks a cub or kills it, or can no longer provide protection, he gets his azz handed to him, and perhaps gets evicted.

The ladies may choose another Lion from the outskirts.

The Lion is the protector, seeming King, but the Ladies seem to work as a matriarchy, who “chooses” who to mate with, and it’s not always the King Lion.
