Note there are 4 white points in the center of this hole, likely aligning marks used to splice the pictures together (because satellites are not far enough away from Urth to take a single snapshot of the entire Torus. “Space” is low- Urth orbit).

However, if you look closely, there are also clearly visible stars in there as well.
