I’ve met a few “Goa’uld” in my life and boy oh boy are they some NASTY customers. But since the subject of Goa’uld has resurfaced it’d be a miss to not also mention the Tok’ra. I’ve met quite a few Tok’ra. It’s odd at first, to trust a Goa’uld. Until I realized that even though they were once taken prisoner to be a host for a brutal parasitic destroyer, Tok’ra are infact not Goa’uld. Just as humans can expand beyond their biological or environmental stiflings and become something more, something better, than their predecessors who couldn’t break the generational curses. Tok’ra are not Goa’uld even though they continue to carry their Goa’uld symbiote, and the knowledge of every Goa’uld ever. A Tok’ra makes the decision to live their lives strategizing against the tyrannical and sadistic Goa’uld. The Tok’ra symbiotes are some of the wisest in the known galaxies. To carry one forward and share in an experience with a Tok’ra symbiote is an honor. To be a human Tok’ra is to be a multi being with access to treasure troves of information and skills.
