Oh Dear Father, Have Mercy

Published July 9, 2017 by tindertender

Oh my dear father,
I like him, he is very handsome.
I want to go to Porta Rossa
to buy the ring!
Yes, yes, I want to go there!
And if my love were in vain,
I would go to Ponte Vecchio
and throw myself in the Arno!
I am pining and I am tormented,
Oh God! I would want to die!
Daddy, have mercy, have mercy!
Daddy, have mercy, have mercy!

What If All I Want Is A Mediocre Life?

Published March 25, 2017 by tindertender

… What if I all I want is a small, slow, simple life? What if I am most happy in the space of in between. Where calm lives. What if I am mediocre and choose to be at peace with that? …

  1. of only moderate quality; not very good:
    “a mediocre actor”

Who decides what is adequate and what is not? Why are there measuring sticks being held to what people use to define their lives? How is a person free to choose for themselves what it means to live in a personal state of happiness and importance when from birth, it is taught, drilled into our minds, what “important” issues and status are?

Brainwashing ~

[ˈbrānˌwôSH, ˈbrānˌwäSH]
  1. make (someone) adopt radically different beliefs by using systematic and often forcible pressure:
“the organization could brainwash young people”

“they have been brainwashed into conformity and subservience”

Have you noticed anything peculiar about the way you think or live your life? Think back to you, as a child. Do you remember being asked what you wanted to be when you grew up? If you can, how is that aligning with your current reality?

I always wanted to be a singer, haha, and I do sing … in the bathroom, while I work, while driving, while walking in the woods. Doing what brings joy to our hearts may not always provide an income, but that does not mean it should be tossed aside and forgotten. We need this in our world in order to maintain health. Conformity is only good to a point, after that (or before), it is we who decide where our time and energies belong.

HA. Isn’t that just the way.

It is interesting how people come … and people go … even I have been there and am now here. HA. Isn’t that just the way.

Habits … believing that other opinions of us are greater than the thoughts we hold for, and about, ourselves is a trained pattern of behavior. It is hard to transform it into something freer, more healthy.

It is easy to replay negative remarks over and over in the mind, or keep seeing that sneer and the role of the eyes as someone judged harshly in our memory bank. There are situations where some feel it is necessary to embrace those judgements and alter ourselves according to what others feel is acceptable. No … this does not work.

We cannot please all of the people, it is hard enough to please ourselves. However, in putting the effort into being the best version of ourselves (truly), those who think the same will show up. It only takes one or two, more is not necessarily better.

Release. Learning how not to get too comfortable, too attached to things, situations, circumstances, is tough. Sometimes release is not what we choose, most often it may not be what we choose, yet it happens. Sooner or later we begin to realize that when we hold too tightly to something, we only trap ourselves and set ourselves up for pain and drama when it changes, and morphs into some new situation.

Recognizing and understanding the flow … it too is a learned thing. Or is it?

Little Book Of Happiness

Published February 26, 2017 by tindertender

My little box of love received all the way from Australia carried with it “A Little Book Of Happiness”. I go to it now, for today has been a little rough, in that there is a sadness attempting to swallow my mind.

Give happiness and joy to many people. There is nothing better or greater than that.
   ~ Ludwig Van Beethoven

We choose our joys and our sorrows long before we experience them.
   ~ Khalil Gibran

Happiness, how big and precious it is.
   ~ Maxim Gorky

Throw out from yourself an adhesive web of love, and catch in it all that comes.
   ~ Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy

Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower. When you come upon a path that brings benefit and happiness to all, follow this course as the moon journeys through the stars.
   ~ Buddha

May each and every warm thought bring a wish for all the best in life, and all your favorite things … Go as far as your dreams can take you … Precisely the least, the softest, the lightest, a lizards rustling, a breath, a flash, a moment – a little makes the way of the best happiness.
   ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

The infinite has written its name on the heavens in shining stars, and on earth in tender flowers.
   ~ Jean Paul Richter

If the sight of blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simplest things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive.
   ~ Eleanora Duse

the-wind-saidI will end on that note as far as listing some of the quotes found in “The Little Book Of Happiness”, for I find this to be a very important one to ponder.

Do you feel nature in your inner most self when you are alone among the trees and bushes, or sitting next to a stream, or river … or perhaps when you are watching the waves of the ocean roll in, one after the other? If so, then I am indeed very happy, for this means perhaps there is hope for life after all.

I do hope for all mankind an ability to understand that what happens, or has happened TO them does not define them. If this blessing could wash over us all, then perhaps we would stop hurting each other so, stop hurting the animals, and begin to take part in the healing of the planet and all of life.

It is time to shed the illusion. Accept each other for who we really are, and treat each other with gentle understanding.

We need each other, but not in the game. We need each other to shed our shame. Let us hold each other in tenderness, for we all, every one of us, have suffered. Understanding this reality will enable us to Love.

It is no shameful thing to be vulnerable, in fact, allowing our vulnerability to show is true strength, and when we do this, when we uncover ourselves, we make it possible for others to do the same.

It takes extreme courage, but I believe you are strong, I believe you are capable. I believe you are able to live life authentically. When you do this, you will be one …. One who joins others … in saving this world.
