The Line We Walk

Every single person has a shadow side, and a side dwelling in light. Whether they turn his way or that, both will be upon them at the same time in equal portion.

While some feed the shadow, and some feed the light, both are still upon them equally. In the end it will be the one they’ve built greater relationship with that will determine their state of consciousness.

Do you choose Heaven or Hell? Joy vs Anger? Gladness vs Madness?

An old Cherokee was teaching his grandson about life.

“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.

“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

This reality has been known for centuries. When people stop listening to wisdom, or caring one way or the other … then there will be serious need for someone(s) to step in and force a change. If humans cannot govern their own minds and actions, taking care not to harm other life … then they have proven they are not worthy of the freedoms bestowed upon them.
