Counting Blessings, Pondering Life

Published January 15, 2019 by tindertender

Hanging out in candle and fire light while my elderberry syrup simmers. The soft glow of this type of light soothes my senses. The crackle of the fire 🔥 is like music to my ears. One of my candles has that wooden wick which makes noise.

Fresh brewed elderberry syrup with reishi mushroom, chaga mushroom, ginger, cayenne (hot!) organic cane sugar (ran out of honey), cloves, and a couple other things. It’s tasty! I’m glad for the healing properties of the cayenne, also because it makes it a little less tempting to chug it … haha.

As this evening winds down, I consider the blessings this day has offered. I am old enough, and experienced enough, to know that no-thing remains the same, ever. All circumstances shift and evolve, morphing into the next experience. I’ve also learned that whatever the down swing, will also be the equal up swing … all circumstances have equalizing poles, just as the South Pole has the North Pole.

As a younger person I noted that things could get real crappy, real fast. It could break a person if they weren’t able to weather the storm, but should they be able to withstand whatever it is … or was … they’ll eventually experience the up swing of that circumstance. I imagine that if not in this life, then in the after life, or the next physical incarnation … but perhaps life in general, this, the next, and so on are all full of this pendulum swing. Perhaps it is our sacred work to reach balance in this experience, and in all experiences.

Do you suppose the pendulum will someday cease to swing? If it does … what then? Will we finally have peace on earth?
