Plucking Fear From Mind & Body

Published June 22, 2018 by tindertender

This world is a breeding ground for fear. Upon entering this life there is a pure innocence and joy, often stripped away before words are even spoken, or soon thereafter.

Fear lives so deeply within the body/spirit system, sometimes it isn’t even known. Through life a tough exterior is grown, a stiff upper lip, a stubborn thrust of the chin, a bad attitude … whatever it takes to defend the self from the continuous lash of what hurts.

A false joy is developed, many become experts at pretending happiness, they stuff the pain until it cannot be recognized, but it is still there … wrapped in fear. Heck, there are even times when one truly believes they are happy! Then something happens and they begin to question that reality … at least I have.

There are those who coach people to walk into the fear, face it head on … even I have said it, and I believe it! Yet still, knowing this and actually doing it are two different things. Sometimes when we think we are walking into it, we hold back ~ not even knowing we reserved the right to maintain the embedded habit of fear, to hold that wall of protection up just in case.

Yes, this world breeds fear, and also provides what is needed to overcome it … strength is developed, endurance, a stubborn will that calls for us to survive even when we would rather quit.

How does one shed the fear? How does one actually reach so deep inside the core of the being, grab hold of that fear, pinch it, and pluck it right from the body and the mind? There are many theories written and taught by those who say they have no fear … but do they? Neither here nor there, each individual must find a way to their center and have a willingness to honestly evaluate what they find there. It cannot be done for us ~ it can only be done by us, for us.

The question is then, how badly do we wish for peace? At what lengths are we willing to go to create it?

The Sacred Wisdom Keepers know of this better than many. If we long for the truth, if we truly wish to see a better world, this is a good place to search, beginning of course by looking into our own being. There must be a desire to open the mind in order to receive knowledge, and there ought to be a respect for the sharing one receives from an Elder.

Life is short, even when one lives to be what we now consider old. There isn’t time to waste on stubbornness and pretending, not if we long to see a world full of truth, peace, joy, and love.
