Life Kingdoms

Published April 6, 2018 by tindertender

I drove by a cow farm and saw a bunch of calves, they were adorable. I wondered if any of them were male, as I remembered videos I saw of the newborn males being roughly handled and sent for slaughter. I thought of how the farmer values heifers for their milk and ability to birth more calves.

I then thought of humanity, and how they value females compared to males, saddened at the obvious.

My mind returned to the male calves, so terrified as they were brutalized in their young lives.

Then I remembered how I was tricked into eating veal nearly 32 years ago, still quite pissed about it.

I looked to my dashboard at the clock. 11:11, new beginnings. Let it be soon.
