Simple Gestures

living-in-darknessSimple gestures,
Silent waves,
Loosen up the air.

Shaking hands,
No words said,
Agreement has been made.

To attain something ‘for less’
Is different than attaining
Something of ‘less value’.

Living in the dark, I suppose you know … but you will not share with me. I wait, knowing information is withheld, but perhaps it is only prohibited from entering this cold, dank space I find myself in.

Purple locket fallen to the earth, picture within tells of love long ago. Paper box, folded and tucked, hollow inside, seeing right through it, air flows. Pink fuzzy sock alone on the bench, what does it hold? Song sung, peace wrung, squeezed so tightly it seems none is left.

Bells jingling, happiness arrives. Smile creeps in where once were rigid lines, edges lift, they don’t quite stick, message is still clear.

Impossible they say, but what do they know? Charades is the game they’ve played. I stop listening to their dribble.

Hemispheres of the world, which one do you dwell? In body, in mind, it’s all relative. An owl in the window, big round eyes looking right past me, seeing something I cannot.

No going back now. A vocalization of concern, of disappointment. A testimony for others who have potential of experiencing the same.
