Set Your Boundaries

Chess Board
check is a condition in chess, shogi, and xiangqi that occurs when a player’s king (or general in xiangqi) is under threat of capture on their opponent’s next turn. A king so threatened is said to be in check.
Hold Yourself in Check … There is indeed a battle going on in this world, much of it is not seen. While many people kick back and say, “Jesus is coming, I’m saved”, there isn’t a whole lot they’re doing to contribute to the safety of the world, and those in it.  This is not an easy journey, it is not a situation where you get to do nothing and reap benefits because you are loved. You also need to have love in your heart, patience and at least an attempt to understand where folks are coming from … all folks.
I see various people, in fact, whole groups of people, who snarl and spew disdain for anyone outside their family or organization. The lack of empathy shown in the many actions is a tell tale sign of what is truly in their hearts.
Hold yourself to me, means check your innermost being, clean your spiritual house, let go of the arrogance that you may have felt has kept you safe all these years. Set boundaries and stop drama at the door. (Of course it could have another, or other, meanings as well.) It is time to embrace vulnerability and show up without layers of story-line attached. Wear honor and do not judge, for that is not yours.
A peeling away of illusion is in order for a forward motion and line of useful defense to exist. The battle that has been waged and which you have become used to, is not the real deal. Underlying all of it is a master chess game.
The kingdom requires attention, it requires keen observation and swift action. Over the years you have faced many hardships which have been a training of a sort. How strong is your stamina, how courageous have you become in the face of fear, how steady is your mind, how strong is your will?
Time is short, however there IS still time for the short-stretch training, students call it cramming for the test. This is no test however … my hope is that you will make yourself ready.
