Have you heard of that saying: “Feathers appear when angels are near?”
Feathers have ethereal qualities and come to you as sacred gifts from heaven. They fall on your path as a sign from the Divine, sent your way in order to comfort you and place you in a state of joy and higher awareness. Spirit is showing you that you are on the right track and reminding you of your celestial origins and deep connection to your heavenly home beyond earth.
Not only do angels and guides send you feathers as a sign of unconditional love and to show you that they are near and hear, guide and support you from above; but also those who have crossed over to the ‘other side.’
A feather, especially a white one, can represent that your loved one in spirit is okay, watching over you and at peace. It is their way to interact with nature and send you a message from heaven.
Feathers and feathery creatures such as birds, butterflies, dragonflies, or other kinds of winged animals are all God’s form of communicating with you through their appearance as a sign.
Feathers have a connection to birds and wings and wings are a symbol of flight as well as freedom. From a metaphysical perspective, this can represent the spiritual journey or quest, and interdimensional travel. Angels are often depicted with wings as a way of symbolizing their celestial movement and prompt ability to carry out Divine will.
With both their connection to birds physically and angels symbologically, their message is to soar above, look at things from a higher perspective, and know that you have the power to move beyond boundaries and limitations.
How do you know for sure your feather is a sign?
Any feather that comes your way may be a sign. It is especially a sign if it comes in a magical way or you find it in an odd place. (Like moving to a new house, mowing an overgrown forgotten lawn in near 90 degree weather, sweating profusely and looking down, and wow, right in front of me, unscathed by the mower, was this beauty, below.)
Feather signs often appear on your path in front of you, or at your doorstep. It might just stick out, glow, or catch your attention somehow. Once a feather appeared in my bag, and on my bedroom floor. If you believe that your feather is a true sign, then trust in that.
Interpreting the Meaning of the Feather Sign
You might be wondering why a feather has come your way. This is when you have to ask yourself what you have been thinking, going through or asking for. Perhaps it has come as an answer to your prayers or a validation to whatever spiritual being you might have been connecting with.
The spiritual work and communicate in very elusive ways, and often through our sub conscious mind. Even if you do not understand the meaning of the sign at the time, it could become clearer later, or you may be absorbing it in at a sub-conscious level. Just trust that it is a sign and let go of any doubts.
Don’t stress yourself about having to know what it means. Allow yourself to absorb the moment and sit with it for a while. Feel the joy and ecstatic state of connection. Try expanding your awareness when it happens and take your time with it. No need to hurry. Don’t force meaning to come through by analysing with your rational brain, allow it to come through intuitively (which is more like a gentle knowing).
Whenever you observe a sign, take note of the following:
•What you were thinking just before it happened?
•What is going on in your life lately or at that particular moment in time.
•How did it make you feel when you found it?
•What were your first thoughts, feelings or impressions?
•What could the sign be telling you?
